Evi pouts at him but says nothing, she hated this place.  She hated the memories it had.  She hated that her grandfather’s house was right there where she could see it.  She hated…gah…she just wanted to go home!

Dragus:  “I love you.”

Evi: “You keep saying that.”

Dragus:  “And I’m going to keep on saying it till you believe me and say it back.”

Evi: …….

She looks away from him and out over the water, this place.  This god awful place…..

Dragus:  “You know why I brought you here?”

Evi:  “Because you’re an idiot with a death wish….”

Dragus:  “No…because this is where everything went wrong between us and I want to make things right but I can’t do it alone, princess.”

Evi stops short when she realizes where they are, why hadn’t she noticed they that were back on the island?  Why hadn’t she realized he was taking her to the beach?

Evi:  “I want to go home.”

Dragus:  “Not just yet, princess.”

Evi:  “I don’t want to be here.”

Dragus:  “Babe…..”

Evi:  “What is this?  Some sort of fucking intervention?  My grandfathers better not appear or I’m kicking you.”

Dragus laughing and clearly not at all bothered by her threats:  “Damn woman, such violence.”

One day while their daughter is at school, Dragus asks Evi to go somewhere with him….

She really needs to start asking him where they’re going before blindly following along like some damn kitten, Evi realizes as she glances around.

Evi:  “A campground?  A freaking campground?  Really, Dragus?  What about me makes you think I’d like going to a campground?”

Dragus laughing:  “Not a damn thing but we’re not here for this, let’s go for a walk.”

Evi:  “There better not be any snakes or spiders, there better not be anything that creeps or crawls….”

Dragus:  “I’ll protect you from anything that creeps or crawls.”

Evi:  “I feel sooo much better now.”

Brad:  “And why don’t you want to move out?  Is it because of Daniella?”

Evi:  “Maybe, I don’t know…..”

Brad:  “Evangeline, you can lie to me…you can lie to your mother….you can lie to anybody you want but at least don’t lie to yourself.  Why don’t you want to move out?”

Evi slowly:  “I don’t know, dad.”

Brad:  “You do but because of what’s happened in the past, you’re scared to say it.”

Evi:  “I’m not scared….”

Brad just looks at her….

Evi:  “Ok, maybe I am.”

Sitting down on the porch, they’re silent for a moment.  Brad knows his daughter well and knows she will talk when she’s ready.

Evi:  “Dragus keeps telling me that he loves me.”

Brad:  “And that’s a bad thing because?  You don’t love him back?”

Evi:  “No…yes….I don’t know.”

Brad:  “If you’re not sure then maybe you should move out till you are, being together is just confusing the issue.”

Evi frowns at the thought of moving out and leaving Dragus and Daniella.

Evi:  “No!  That’s the last thing I want, dad.”

Brad just smiles because he already knew that but he had wanted her to say it.

Brad walks in to the room and gets straight to the point after hugging his errant daughter.

Brad:  “You didn’t just stop by for a social visit, I know you better than that.  What’s wrong?  Is there a problem at work?”

Evi:  “No, work is fine.  Can we go outside and talk, dad?”

Brad frowns because like any parent, he was starting to worry.  What was so wrong that she needed to talk to him alone?
